Founded by James Reid in 1854, the family provided both furniture and undertaker services to Kingston that has continued to grow over four generations. Today, James Reid Furniture is still proudly family owned and operated, and provides high quality furniture to the Kingston community and surrounding areas. Fun Facts

We helped furnish Elton John's dressing room when he preformed in Kingston- and in return, received a signed poster! and yes- we did end up selling the furniture he used during the concert!

When JR opened back in 1854, carpenters would not only make the furniture that was sold but would also make coffins for the funeral home.

The store was up and running in Kingston well before the roads were even paved, and before Canada became a country.

This store is still owned and operated by the same family.

Past stores in Kingston like Robert Reid Funeral home and Robert Reid furniture were owned by one of Fredricks ( 2nd in JRF ownership) older brothers

We still have multiple sale signs from the Furniture store going back to the 60's to 70's, one even ranging back to 1900.

A James Reid Furniture ad was put on the cover of the paper when it was announced that the titanic sank. ( That's our business name in the bottom right corner)
